Sons felled by Falkirk
Goals from Thomas Grant and David Weatherston helped Falkirk secure their third consecutive league win with a 2-0 victory at Dumbarton.
The visitors got off to the perfect start when Grant applied a sidefooted finish to Brian Alston's cross after 25 minutes.
Their lead was doubled five minutes later when Weatherston raced onto Lyle Taylor's flick-on before firing home.
The Bairns almost had a third before half-time but Stephen Grindlay palmed Taylor's goalbound header out of danger.
Grindlay needed to be alert to keep the Sons in the game after the break with a sharp save to keep out Jonathan Flynn's header.
Ian Murray's men were unable to force a late comeback, though, with Scott Agnew's speculative strike the closest they came to reducing the arrears.
