Battling Dumbarton take spoils

Bottom-placed Dumbarton picked up only their second league win of the season with a 4-3 victory at Falkirk.

The hosts took the lead two minutes before the interval, when Lyle Taylor headed home Stephen Kingsley's cross, before James Lister found a first-half stoppage time equaliser for the Sons.

When Darren Dods was shown a straight red card for a foul on Garry Fleming inside the area in the 67th minute, Ian Murray's men were presented with the opportunity to take a surprise lead, and Scott Agnew made no mistake from the spot.

Nine minutes later, the midfielder applied the finish to Fleming's assist to notch his second of the afternoon.

Bryan Prunty then picked out Lister who converted from close range, before James Creaney was dismissed for a tackle on Taylor to give the Bairns hope.

Taylor scored twice in three minutes late on to complete his hat-trick, but the away side were not to be denied.
